I’m so excited to share the Diono Radian 3RXT – a great option if you need to seat your children 3-across in most vehicles!
We recently had the opportunity to test out the 3-across capability as we needed seats for my three boys in my mom’s car, a Mitsubishi Outlander, and Diono so kindly sent us three Radian RXTs in exchange for this review. We really love the slim design! They comfortably fit in the back seat, with room to spare! The quality of the fabric is excellent, and the seats themselves look beautiful with the bright and vibrant blue color!
One of the amazing things about the 3RXT is that it is designed to adapt for all ages. It can be used for children 5 to 120lb! It can even rear face up to 50 pounds, which is a feature many parents want to take advantage of from this seat!
The frame has a reinforced steel core, and the seats feel incredibly sturdy and well-made!! (This thing is solid – you’re not going to want to be moving it around from car to car!)
It did take a few hours to install the three seats and get them adjusted for each child. The headrest (which offers additional side impact protection) was particularly tricky to figure out, we had to remove the fabric to get it lifted up far enough for my 6.5 year old to fit comfortably in the seat. Once figured that out though, we were able to get them installed relatively easily! They do have an option without the adjustable headrest that fits 3-across just as well — that is the 3RX model which you can learn more about here!
Overall, our favorite features include the slim design, quality construction and fabrics, and longevity of use for this seat! A great choice if you need 3-across capability with both forward and rear facing options!
And a bonus – the cupholders are a great addition, too, and fit my boys’ Camelbak water bottles that they regularly tote around with them!
